Consistency: The Key To Academic Success

Consistency is essential for academic success. The rationale is that consistency forms the habit that dictate our everyday actions. This habit in turn leads to success. Similar to how young children thrive on consistency and structured routines, students who organise, develop and commit to a fixed study schedule will largely be able to achieve the results they want.

With that being said, simply putting in the hours does not produce a productive session. To yield positive results, students must combine consistent habits with effective study strategies. Common methods include tailoring study materials to individual learning styles, keeping distractions away, having a comprehensive set of notes and planning a fixed study schedule. Additionally, students can make the most of their time by using assessment books.

How to select the correct assessment books 📚

Understand your child’s needs: Instead of buying overly advanced assessment books, consider your child’s academic standards and learning needs to ensure smooth and consistent progress.

Choose relevant assessment materials: Some assessment books have basic practice questions to reinforce novel concepts whereas some are step-by-step guides to more complex topics. Others that contain the questions of all the topics learned in the academic year make ideal exam revision materials. Focus on what your child will require at different stages of the academic year and prepare accordingly.

Detailed explanations: Some assessment books have full solutions in the answer keys which will help students easily understand the concepts - and how to solve similar questions instead of relying on memorising methods to solve questions, especially in Maths and Science.
